ARQUILED acknowledged with Environmental Certification
Portuguese LED Street Lighting company is now certified with ISO 14001 for its factory in Mora, Alentejo - south of Portugal.
ARQUILED plant, located in Mora, Alentejo, has obtained an environmental certification based on ISO 14001: 2015, which aims to provide organizations with a framework to protect the environment and respond to changing environmental conditions, in balance with socio-economic needs.
Environmental awareness is one of the guidelines of our entire activity and the certification now obtained attests to ARQUILED’s commitment to a more sustainable future, an idea reinforced by CEO Miguel Allen Lima:
The definition of sustainable development points to the ‘inevitability of meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs’ and this is a concern that we incorporate into everything we do, notably by creating innovative LED luminaires that, when used in combination with one of our smart light management systems, reduce the energy costs of municipalities by about 80%, thus significantly reducing their ecological footprint.
ISO 14001 specifies all requirements to be met by the Environmental Management System of a certified organization. The success of the system depends on its commitment to the entire structure of the organization and its ability to consider risks and opportunities and to integrate environmental management into business processes, strategic direction and decision-making processes.
The ISO 14001 Environmental Certification joins the ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and the ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems, previously obtained.
ARQUILED is fully committed in the development of products and solutions to promote and develop the concept of Smart Cities, based in the pillars of sustainability, energy efficiency, security, intelligence and connectivity.
