ARQUILED becomes a LoRa Alliance® membership
Portuguese street lighting company at the forefront of the Internet of Things
Arquiled, through its affiliate Bright Science, is the latest member of LoRa Alliance®, the international organization committed to the development of radio frequency technologies for long-range communication with minimum power consumption through the LoRaWAN® protocol to promote efficient IoT connectivity.
Portuguese group joins the more than 500 international companies that are part of this alliance, including IBM, Cisco, HP and Foxconn.
This association aims to promote the connectivity of street lighting to other IoT devices, enabling the development of smart cities, which the city of Tomar is the most recent example.
This project includes the street lighting infrastructure improvement by upgrading the entire municipality to LED lighting and to which Arquiled has developed LoRa network-connected luminaires that make it possible to regulate peer-to-peer all street lighting.
According to Miguel Allen Lima, CEO of Arquiled, the company’s association to this alliance “means Arquiled’s recognition in the development of IoT-based smart lighting systems. This is the largest and growing alliance in the technology sector and as a member Arquiled is committed to continuing to focus on developing connected street lighting solutions that promote the concept of smart cities not only in Portugal but beyond borders.“
