The project of Tomar Municipality is an absolute pioneer in Portugal for smart street lighting – it covers the entire county with about 14 thousand new luminaires connected via LoRaWAN®.communications and a centrally managed through an IoT platform and Artificial Intelligence.

Within the scope of energy effi­ciency management, four pilot monitoring projects were also implemented:

    • Air quality;
    • Water quality of the Nabão River;
    • Flood levels of the river;
    • The use and loss of water in the fire hydrants.
