Replacement of old lighting with LED technology
In 2019, the municipality of Vieira do Minho implemented an energy efficiency plan by replacing sodium vapor luminaires with LED technology luminaires.
This replacement allowed to implement street lighting innovative solutions with the purpose of generate savings, increase efficiency, and minimize the environmental impact.
In some of the most symbolic places of the municipality, historic lanterns have been preserved. Thus, the project also includes a technological upgrade, maintaining and preserving the existing equipment through retrofitting – by restoring the lanterns chassis, and introducing an LED module.
